Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor in the Government Department at Colby College and an associate in research at the Fairbank Center, Harvard University.
I received my PhD in Government from Cornell University in 2024. I study economic statecraft, sanctions, and the domestic politics of international relations, with a focus on China. My current book project investigates the drivers and consequences of China's coercive statecraft. Some of my writing has appeared in the Journal of Contemporary China, The Washington Post’s Monkey Cage, Brookings, and H-Diplo ISSF.
Previously, I was a Global Political Economy Project Fellow at Georgetown University's Mortara Center for International Studies and a Hans J. Morgenthau Fellow at University of Notre Dame's International Security Center.
My research has received generous support from the Smith Richardson Foundation, Ruth C. Lawson Fellowships at Mount Holyoke College, Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies, the Qualitative and Interpretive Research Institute and the Cornell Graduate School. Prior to Cornell, I received a B.A., magna cum laude, in Politics with Honors from Mount Holyoke College.
